Boy Genius, 12, Sets Guinness World Record and Appears on Glenn Beck Program

https://i0.wp.com/thefastertimes.com/tech/files/2011/04/Jacob-Barnett-222x300.jpgJacob Barnett, the 12 year ancient boy genius who is setting the Internet ablaze with his mathematical acumen and his disregard for the theories of  Albert Einstein is back in the news. He has set a Guinness World Record as the youngest astrophysicist to obtain a PhD research role. He is not the youngest notable science guru, but.  Emily Rosa, age 11, holds the Guinness record for youngest person to have research published. She started developing a theory on therapeutic touch at age 9. In related news, I was once in the running for largest freak-out at a toy store because Super Mario Bros 3 was sold out. Sigh.

Mr. Barnett hasn’t just been smashing records, but. He’s been on a bona-fide media blitz. He has appeared on 60 Minutes, NPR and The CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. Also, he has someone spoofing him on Twitter.

Most notably, though, was Mr. Barnett’s appearance on the Glenn Beck Program on Fox News. It went down exactly as one would imagine, with Mr. Barnett writing his formulas on Beck’s infamous chalkboard and Mr. Beck interrupting at every turn. At one point, Beck interrupts just to write R2D2. At another point, he interrupts to discuss how “ancient and mushy” he is. Mr. Barnett, for all of his genius, was unable to solve Beck’s “crypto-liberal-fascist-terrorist” formula though. Too terrible on that.
