‘American Idol’ Top 8 will perform songs from movies

American Idol, which airs on Fox 5 in Queens Wednesday and Thursday nights at 8PM, has now narrowed it down to the Top 8 after the shocking elimination of Pia Toscano last week. The Top 8 are: Casey Abrams, Haley Reinhart, Jacob Lusk, James Durbin, Lauren Alaina, Paul McDonald, Scotty McCreery, and Stefano Langone.

When the Top 8 takes the stage on Wednesday, they will be performing hit songs from movies to win America over and receive enough votes to make it past elimination on Thursday’s show. What songs do you want to hear from the contestants?

The following night, on the elimination show, Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, and Jason Aldean will be taking the stage to sing for the audience. Lauren Alaina has been compared to Kelly Clarkson this season, and the season 1 winner did comment on her Facebook after. She also talked about Casey on her Twitter after his performance last week:

“I might have a bit of a crush on Casey on American Idol this season. He’s super cute and obviously super talented. Fantastic job tonight man!”

Casey was the contestant who received the judges’ one save this season when he received the lowest votes.
